Hobbit dresses

There are a few differences between the outfits the hobbit women wear in "The Hobbit" compared to those from the LOTR movies. In LOTR, the vast majority of their dresses had two skirts, back lacing bodices, were in earthy yellows, reds, greens and browns, many had a "keyhole" in the front of the bodice and there were few kerchiefs or jackets. In "The Hobbit" it seems the vast majority have one skirt, front opening bodices, less predominance of earthy tones, no "keyhole" necklines, and a lot of women are wearing kerchiefs and jackets. Despite these differences they retain a hobbity look, and I can easily imagine how the styles would have evolved over the years between when The Hobbit is set and the setting of the LOTR.
